Our customer, a leading German insurance company, faced the challenge of migrating from M/TEXT 4 to M/TEXT 6 Classic while simultaneously creating new templates for the updated system. Around 300 M/TEXT templates of varying complexity had to be migrated.
The output management is based on kwsoft's Series M/ for Customer Communication Management. The application processes XML data with M/Text to generate PDF files.
The portal, customisable through an integrated M/TEXT editor, was initially created for one medical association and subsequently adapted for two others.
Project Goals & Challenges
The main objective of the project was to migrate from M/TEXT 4 to M/TEXT 6 Classic. Additionally, the aim was to ensure the creation of new templates for the updated system.
A particular challenge in this project was the complexity of the existing M/TEXT 4 templates. Successful migration required close cooperation with our client’s developers.
Solution Implementation
BBHT employees quickly integrated into the customer’s teams, enabling close and cooperative collaboration. Initially, the project began with two BBHT M/TEXT developers. As the project progressed, two additional BBHT junior developers joined the team. The junior developers received intensive training and were able to develop templates independently within three months.
This project is an example of the successful implementation of an M/TEXT development project. Thanks to the trusting and long-term cooperation, it was possible to build up know-how and the customer was able to significantly increase its development capacities through an external service provider.
