Recently, one of our dedicated Software Testers from BBHT Solutions, Valentina, attended an inspiring event organized by FYAYC, held just outside Frankfurt from September 4-6, 2024. This gathering brought together team members from different sites, creating a fantastic opportunity for collaboration, networking, and knowledge-sharing. We’re excited to share her experience and some of the highlights from this engaging event!
Setting Off for Frankfurt
Her journey began on Wednesday evening, traveling to the event venue located around 35 km from Frankfurt. Despite the distance, our colleague was eager to meet colleagues from various locations and explore new perspectives on their ongoing e-commerce project.
Event Day: Thursday’s Full Schedule of Activities
Thursday kicked off with breakfast, followed by introductions. Teams from each site introduced themselves and the clients they support. It was an insightful start, offering everyone a chance to put faces to the names they work with daily.
Morning Workshop: Exploring AI and Creativity
The first workshop focused on artificial intelligence, with a particular highlight on a unique tool developed by one of the teams, designed to function similarly to ChatGPT. This AI tool allowed participants to experiment with various prompts and see how the tool responded creatively.
The teams were composed of a developer, a tester, and a Project Owner to ensure a balanced mix of expertise. The goal? To generate story titles in a wide range of styles, from children’s books to horror fairy tales. The team tried out many unusual styles, testing the AI's versatility and enjoying the unexpected results. This session was both entertaining and thought-provoking, showcasing how AI could inspire creativity in unexpected ways.
Lunch Break
After an engaging morning, everyone took a well-deserved lunch break, allowing for some downtime and informal conversations before the afternoon sessions.
Afternoon Workshop: Building with LEGO
In the afternoon, Valentina participated in a hands-on LEGO workshop. Each team member built LEGO models to represent themselves and their roles, encouraging creative thinking about individual contributions. The session included five stages, with the final stage challenging each team to create a cohesive model that illustrated their team’s workflow from start to finish.
This exercise provided a refreshing perspective on teamwork, encouraging the group to visualize and align on their processes in a playful, hands-on way. Each team included a mix of roles—developer, tester, and Project Owner—fostering a collaborative environment where everyone could contribute.
Presentations on Digital Pollution and Project Plans for 2025
Following the LEGO workshop, attendees engaged in a presentation on "Digital Pollution." This discussion touched on the environmental impacts of unused mobile applications, increased Google Drive storage, and the physical space occupied by data servers. The topic raised awareness about the often-overlooked environmental footprint of digital data and sparked conversations on reducing digital waste.
The day continued with discussions on project plans for 2025. Each project team outlined their goals and key objectives for the coming year, allowing everyone to align on future directions. It was motivating to see the collective vision for what lies ahead and to know that each team plays an essential role in BBHT Solutions’ roadmap.
Evening: Dinner, Drinks, and Departure
The event concluded with a relaxing dinner and drinks, offering a perfect opportunity for attendees to connect on a personal level with colleagues they may not interact with regularly. These informal moments added depth to the relationships built throughout the day, leaving everyone feeling energized and more connected as they headed back to Frankfurt.
Reflections on the Event
The primary goal of this gathering was to bring together the various teams working on our projects, fostering collaboration and building camaraderie. The activities were designed not only to encourage teamwork but also to provide a refreshing break from daily routines. From brainstorming with AI to building with LEGO, our colleague and her team gained valuable insights, new connections, and a renewed sense of purpose for their work.
